1296911 5 - Aminotriazole - 4 - carboxylic acid esters EGYT GYOGYSZERVEGYESZETI GYAR 19 Feb 1970 [26 Feb 1969] 8103/70 Heading C2C Novel 5-aminotriazole-4-carboxylic acid esters of the general formula wherein Alk is a C 1-5 alkyl group and one of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> is a hydrogen atom and the other is a m- or p-fluoro- or chloro-phenyl group, are prepared (a) when R<SP>1</SP> is a hydrogen atom, by reaction of a cyanoacetic acid ester of the general formula NC-CH 2 -COOAlk with m- or p-fluoro- or chloro-phenyl azide and (b) when R<SP>2</SP> is a hydrogen atom, by Dimroth rearrangement of the product of (a). Pharmaceutical compositions having anthelmintic activity comprise, as active ingredient, at least one 5-aminotriazole-4-carboxylic acid ester of the first general formula above, together with a physiologically compatible carrier and/or excipient, and may be administered orally, rectally or parenterally.
