Abstract
1346456 2,6-Disubstituted phenyl hydrazides SANDOZ Ltd 19 April 1971 [18 Feb 1970] 21897/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I (in which the X's are the same and each is F, Cl or C 1-4 alkyl, and R 1 is C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 monohydroxyalkyl, C 1-4 monochloroalkyl, C 2-4 alkenyl, benzyl, phenyl, fluorophenyl, chlorophenyl or C 1-4 alkyl-phenyl, provided that when each X is Cl, then R 1 is other than CH 3 ) are prepared by reacting a compound of Formula II with a compound of formula R 1 -CO-Y, where Y is Cl or Br. Pharmaceutical compositions having minor tranquillizer-sedative-hypnotic activity comprise a compound of Formula I together with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier. The compositions may be administered orally or parenterally.
