[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions, having a lowering effect on the content of cholesterin and fat in the blood and appetite-repressing activity, comprise, as active ingredient, a bis- (p-chlorophenoxy)-acetic acid alkylester of the general formula: wherein R is a C 3-6 alkyl group, in association with an inert, physiologically-acceptable carrier or diluent .The compositions may be administered orally in the form of tablets, powders, granulates, capsules, syrups and elixirs.
