1280244 Pharmaceutical compositions containing alkanedioic acids and derivatives thereof PARKE DAVIS & CO 1 Sept 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 41864/70 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions in dosage unit form possessing serum triglyceride and serum cholesterol-lowering activity, suitable for internal administration, comprise a pharmaceutical carrier and 20 to 1000 mg per dosage unit of a compound of formula: where n is 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10; and each of R and R' which may be the same or different, represents hydrogen, C 1-8 alkyl or a salt-forming cation such as alkali or alkaline earth metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium. The compositions may be administered orally or parenterally in the form of tablets, capsules, lozenges, pills, powders, solutions, or suspensions, optionally containing other therapeutic agents.
