Abstract
1296177 Bath seats A R McGAFFIN and H M McGAFFIN 19 April 1971 [24 March 1970] 25003/71 Heading A4N and A4J A bath seat has two leg members 1, 2 in the form of generally rectangular sheets, a trunk member 4 which joins together the leg members 1, 2 along one of their longer edges, and a plurality of rib members 3, 3a which project from an under surface of the trunk member 4 and the leg members 1, 2; such that the upper surface of the trunk member 4 forms a generally horizontal seating surface when the seat is detachably fitted over a bath rim. The trunk member 4 has a concave depression 5 in its upper surface. A groove 6 and holes 7 are provided to drain surface water from the trunk member 4. The rib members 3, 3a, which are moulded on their inner surfaces to complement the surface of the bath, extend separately up from the lower edge of one leg member, across under the trunk member 4, and down to the lower edge of the other leg member. Tie beams (9), Fig. 2 (not shown) may extend between adjacent pairs of rib members 3, 3a directly beneath the trunk. The seat will stand upright on a flat surface and can be used as a stool.
