Abstract

1295599 Ingot moulds METALLURGICAL EXOPRODUCTS CORP 19 April 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 25395/71 Heading B3F [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] A hot top lining for an ingot mould or head box comprises an exothermic layer (11) bonded to an insulating layer (10). The hot top lining is formed of a composition (see Division C3) such that voids are formed between the two layers when the hot top is contacted by molten steel.
