1295357 Gyromagnetic phase-shifters RCA CORPORATION 20 March 1970 [27 March 1969] 13571/70 Heading H1W The magnetizing wire or wires 24, 25 of a waveguide latching gyromagnetic phase-shifter are surrounded by a conductive spiral 35. This prevents propagation of spurious wave modes on the magnetizing wires. The phase-shifter is of the type using an elongated toroid 20 of gyromagnetic material having a core of dielectric material (e.g. barium titanate) within which the magnetizing wires are embedded. The toroid is arranged on the axis of a rectangular waveguide 10. The wires drive the toroid to desired states of remanent magnetization when pulsed from sources 25, 26.
