An electrically-controllable microwave switch comprises a number of voltage-dependent capacitative elements, e.g. ferro-electric capacitors, in series with the inner conductor of a coaxial line. As shown, elements 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d are arranged between sections 11, 1b, 1c, 1d, 11 of inner conductor which are supported by insulators 6, 7 and are connected alternately to the outer conductor and to a source of potential +V. In one form, the elements may consist mainly of an ordinary dielectric substance having a thin layer of ferro-electric substance in single-crystal or polycrystalline form on one or more surfaces.
