Abstract

1294764 Screw-driver bits P L ROBERTSON MFG CO Ltd 19 June 1970 [23 June 1969] 29876/70 Heading B3N A screw driver bit B comprises a shank 14 and screw driving portions 15 which has eight corners angularly spaced in 45 degree relation around a central axis, any four alternately spaced corners lying on the corners of one square and the intervening corners between such said four corners lying on the corners of a second square in 45 degree angularly spaced relation to the first square. Preferably the eight corners are right angular corners. The driving bit portion tapers towards end 19 which is of part spherical or conical configuration. The bit may be made from round wire with a cylindrical head 16 or moulded from a sintered material such as high strength carbide. Wall portions of adjoining corners meet between the corners at an angle of 135 degrees.
