Abstract

1294597 Spindles, driving ERNEST SCRAGG & SONS Ltd 20 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 19237/70 Heading DID A belt-driven yarn-twisting apparatus comprises a block 23 mounted on slides 13 projecting from a beam 12 and movable on the slides so that a wharve or wharves 16 may be brought into and out of engagement with a drive belt (not shown). Movement of the block 23, which is urged by a spring 24 away from the beam, is controlled by a cam 18 rotatable, but not axially movable, on one of the slides, and having a cam surface 18a coacting with a pin 22 projecting from a sleeve 21 which is attached to the block 23. A bearing plate 27 removably and adjustably secured to the block 23 by dovetail clamping means 26 carries the two wharves 16 and roller units 28 against which a false twist spindle is held by a magnet (not shown). Other twisting apparatus, e.g. friction twisting or break spinning apparatus, may take the place of the false twist spindle.
