Abstract

1294508 Sewing machines HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AB 4 June 1970 [9 June. 1969] 26946/70 Heading D1G A sewing machine comprises means for emitting a signal when the thread remaining on the bobbin has been exhausted to a particular point and is characterised in that the indicating device on the bobbin actuates a signalling device on the machine. As shown a contact lever 13 for sensing the diameter of thread on the bobbin is pivotally mounted on the cranked end of a spring 10 which tensions the bobbin thread emerging from a hole 8 in the casing. A spring 14 urgesthe lever against the coils of thread on the bobbin. When the thread is reduced to a certain point the end 18 of the lever 13 strikes abutments 19 on the loop taker 1 as there is relative motion between the. two. This contact emits a high frequency audible rattle. Alternatively a microswitch 21 may be provided which will either actuate a signal lamp or stop the the machine drive. To remove the exhausted bobbin a lever 6 is moved to the right to release a catch 4 from an annular slot in the bobbin support shaft. An arm 16 depending from the arm 6 contacts the lever 13 and moves it it away to allow removal of the spool.
