Abstract

1332570 Thread tensioning device PFAFF INDUSTRIEMASCHINEN GmbH 8 Oct 1971' [3 Nov 1970] 46900/71 Heading D1G In a disc type thread tensioner the tension release rod 22 is caused to rotate as it moves axially so as to release both the coil spring 20 and the tension check spring 9. The release rod has a helical bearing surface 24 is contact with a stationary guide plate 27, and carries a bracket 29 the free end of which fits into a slot 31 in the sleeve 6 which surrounds the coiled part of the tension check spring. When the presser bar 34 is raised the release rod is pushed axially by an inclined surface 33 and is forced to rotate by the guide plate 27. The bracket 29 rotates the sleeve until it presses against the tension check spring 9. Projections 32 on each side of the slot 31 act as stops. A second weaker pair of tensioning discs may be supported on a plate 1 near the main pair (Fig. 4, not shown).
