1294427 Peep shows; toys made by folding paper T W HAWKYARD 7 May 1971 13644/71 Heading A6S A peep-show comprises an elongate tubular sleeve 1, an insert 8 slidable into the sleeve from one end thereof, the insert having a base portion 9 and bearing items 12 to be viewed, said items being in, or movable to, a position upstanding relative to the base portion; and an end wall adapted to close one end of the sleeve and having at least one peep-hole therein or being provided with means for example score-lines, whereby a peep-hole may be readily produced. In the embodiment shown, which may be assembled by the purchaser from a cardboard blank, the sleeve 1 has a cut-out 2 which is covered by translucent paper or plastics film 3, and two end walls 4, 5 one of which is provided with peep-holes. One of the end walls may be permanently secured in the closed position, for example by glued flaps 6. The items to be viewed are preferably in the form of flaps folded out from the base portion or side walls 10 of the insert and secured by tabs 17. Alternatively the end walls may be omitted from the sleeve 1 and the peep-holes be provided in an end wall of the insert. The flaps 12 may bear scenic, human, animal or cartoon figures and the walls 10, 11 of the insert and exterior walls of the sleeve may also carry a design. In a modified construction (Fig. 2A, not shown) the insert comprises a tube (108) having a flap (112), for example to depict an archway, depending from its top surface.
