Abstract

645,667. Greeting cards ; folding toys. FLEGG, F. S. Oct. 13, 1948, No. 26653. [Classes 11 and 132 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A greeting card, carton, container &c. of paper, board or wood and which can be used as a toy comprises four walls 1, 2, 3, 4 hingedly connected together so as to collapse flat or open out, means for holding the device in the open position or for closing its top and bottom such as flaps 5, 6, a panel 8 hingedly connected to one end wall adapted to be folded flat on the device or placed perpendicular to the end wall, a tape 9, cord or the like secured to the panel, and wheels 10, 11, skids 10a, 11a, slides or shaped projections so that the device can be moved. Preferably the walls 3, 4 terminate above the walls 1, 2 at their lower ends and the panel 8 is secured by hingedly connected flaps 7, 7a. The device may be constructed from a single blank with the hinges formed by crease or score lures and the rotatable wheels mounted on eyelets. It may be printed or otherwise ornamented as with "cutouts " and provided with a calendar. In a modification top and bottom closure flaps 14 with tuck in flaps 15 (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) may be provided, and also a wheel 16 rotatable if desired on the panel 8. Another panel may be connected to the end of the body.
