Abstract
1294037 Keeper A TACK and F GABEL 24 June 1970 [2 July 1969] 30687/70 Heading E2A A keeper 10 for a door frame (not shown) has a flange 13 which supports a buffer device comprising a metal housing 14 having a resilient buffer member 15 therein, the housing 14 being guided in a straight line, when the buffer member 15 is compressed, by means of a catch (not shown) of a latch (not shown) of a door (not shown). The guiding means comprises side walls 14a of the housing 14 which are located in apertures 18 formed in the flange 13 of the keeper 10, and also comprises ribs 14d, Fig. 8. The housing is retained by means of extensions 14b thereof which, having been passed through the apertures 18, are deformed as shown in Fig. 3. The buffer member 15 is retained by lugs 15a thereof being received in an aperture 19 in the flange 13 and in an aperture 20 in the housing 14, respectively. The keeper is also provided with a keeper member 12 and fixing apertures 11. In modifications the web 13, Fig. 4, is inclined, a buffer member comprises springs 21, Fig. 5 which may be retained by means of a cover 22, Fig. 8, and a buffer member 23, Fig. 9, is grooved as shown in Fig. 11 so as to engage the ribs 14d, Fig. 8.
