Abstract

1293167 Knitting-machines W SCHLAFHORST & CO and VYZKUMNY USTAV PLETARSKY 8 Dec 1969 [6 Dec 1968] 59730/69 Headings D1C and D1K In a warp knitting machine having twopart needles, the reciprocation of the sliding latches 3 is so controlled that the books 2 remain .open during the kniting action according to a pattern or in a predetermined regular sequence. The hook parts are cast in leads, 4 fixed to a bar 6. The bar is supported by bolts 8, reciprocated by a rocker lever 22 having a follower roller 28. The latches are similarly supported in a bar 14 reciprocated by lever 36. In the embodiment shown the levers are rocked by cam discs 81, 38 on a common axle 30. Disc 81 has two lifting cams 82, 83, whereas disc 38 has one only. Thus the hooks are closed by the latches on alternate courses only. In an alternative embodiment the two discs each have one lifting cam, the needle disc rotating twice as fast as the tongue disc. In a further alternative the torque, lever is rocked by a pattern chain or disc.
