Abstract

129,244. Peverall, A. E. B. April 5, 1919. No Patent granted (Scaling fee not paid). Ear instruments.-A gramophone is adapted for the treatment of ear complaints by providing a microphone b in the tone-arm a, or between the tone-arm and the horn f, the microphone being mounted on a sliding rod c so that it can be removed from register with the tone arm, a tube e then completing the sound conduit. The microphone b is connected by flexible leads to a battery i and telephone receiver h, the latter being placed close to the ear of the person under treatment. The volume of sound passing to the microphone b is varied by a rotatable collar k having an opening which may be placed in or out of register with an opening j in the side of the tone-arm.
