Abstract

129,108. Wingfield, B. R. July 3, 1918. Thrust bearings.-In a thrust or collar bearing having pivoted blocks as described in Specification 875/05, the blocks A are pivoted on hardened steel balls D bearing against spring disks C, C<1> inserted in the backs of the blocks and in a thrust ring F. The balls are mounted in a cage E bolted to the ring F. The blocks A are cast as a ring, and the disks C are inserted and are ground in position before the blocks are separated. Axial adjustment is effected by loose rings H.
