Abstract
1291054 Steam engine values WILSON & KYLE Ltd 15 Oct 1969 [15 Oct 1968] 48761/68 Heading F1M In a steam engine the piston 14 of which drives the piston or plunger 18 of a pump, the admission of steam is by a valve (not shown) having a direct lift valve member the opening and closing movements of which are effected one electromagnetically and the other by spring action and a separate exhaust valve 60 is arranged to be opened and closed by the steam piston. Electrical contacts 84 for operating the steam admission valve may be actuated by the engine itself or the engine may be arranged as a slave to a repetitive contact device in the electrical circuit of a solenoid of the steam admission valve.
