Carrying.-Consists in the combination with a military equipment comprising a belt and independent crossed brace members, of a tag comprising a slotted metal member adapted to engage a stud or other device on the sling of a rifle or other rigid article which is to be slung across the wearer of the equipment, and means for attaching the tag to some pendant part of the equipment. As shown, the tag is used with an equipment such as is described in Specification 108,167, and with a rifle sling such as described in Specification 107,406. The tag consists of a woven or other strip A, Fig. 2, having at one end a slide or friction buckle C and at the other a metal piece B having a key-hole slot B<1>. In use, as shown in Fig. 1, the buckle C is engaged by the pendant end D of one of the shoulder straps D', and the key-hole slot by a metal stud E<4> on that end of the rifle sling E which has been passed through the swivel F on the rifle butt. The other end of the sling, which passes through a swivel eye G on the rifle, is doubled back and forms a pendant strip E<1> having a metal piece E<2> provided with a key-hole slot which engages a stud on some part of the equipment above one of the cartridge carriers. To prevent the end E<3> of the sling from slipping when in use, the stud may be formed on a sliding buckle E<5>, Fig. 3, through which the sling E and the doubled-back end E<3> may be passed.
