Equipments for carrying purposes.-An equipment, particularly of the kind shown in Specification 23586/11, is constructed so as to enable a haversack to be carried either as a knapsack or pendant from the belt. The back of the haversack has two loops C, C<1>, a horizontal strap B connected to the haversack at one end, and a buckle D. Beneath, the haversack has two fixed loops H, two buckles G, and two straps J. If it is desired to carry the haversack as a knapsack, as shown in Fig. 1, the strap B is withdrawn from the buckle D and loops C, C<1>, and then replaced so as to engage the brace members M, M', while the straps J are looped to the braces just above the cartridge-carriers L, L<1> and connected at their other ends to the buckles G. When the haversack is to be carried in the usual manner, the strap B is released and re-secured without engaging the braces, and the depending ends of the latter are engaged with the usual buckles F, F<1> on the haversack. The two straps J are also disconnected from the position shown in Fig. 1, and re-connected, as shown in Fig. 2, to the loops H and the buckles G on the bottom of the haversack.
