Abstract
1289792 Sliding clasp fasteners LYSTA AS 19 April 1971 [14 Feb 1970] 20149/71 Heading E2S A sliding clasp fastener with stringer tapes 2 folded back along one edge 1 has two rows 4 of interlocking elements 11 attached to the tape margins 3. Each row 4 is 'U'-shaped as viewed (end wise) in Fig. 1, one arm 5 of the 'U' being longer than the other arm 6. Arm 5 carries the interlocking head 7 and the tape margin 3 fits between the arms. As viewed from underneath, Fig. 3, the lower arm 6 itself forms a 'U' shaped base section 15, these base sections being situated between adjacent interlocking heads 7. The rows of elements may be formed from plastics monofilament, and are preferably attached to the tape by sewing. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 6 the elements are extruded in continuous strands from thermoplastics material and the arms 5 have a club-shaped head 7, a foot section 16 forming the root 10 of the 'U' gap, and preferably a groove 19 for holding an attaching thread 18 in position.
