Abstract
1288167 Thermal regenerators; steam generators KUREHA KAGAKLI KOGYO KK and MITSUBISHI TYUKO GYO KK 25 Feb 1970 9081/70 Headings F4A and F4K In a heat exchange system comprising cyclically operable regenerative heat-exchanger units 1, 1a heated by exhaust gas from combustion means 2, 2a and to which process fluid to be heated, e.g. steam, is fed by way of a supply line 11 having an automatic flow rate controlling valve 10, the pressure difference between the interiors of the units 1, 1a is sensed by a detector 18 and the pressures accordingly equalized immediately prior to a cyclic changeover operation taking place by the introduction to one of the units of steam through line 13 thereby ensuring a continuous output of heated process fluid at a constant flow rate and pressure. The line 13 is connected to the steam line 11 upstream of the flow rate controlling valve 10 and includes valves 15 15a to cyclically supply the equalizing steam to the respective units 1, la. Each regenerative unit includes a heat accumulating device. Exhaust gas after leaving either of the units passes to a stack 9 by way of a line 8 or 8a.
