Abstract

1288036 Disc brake pads AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO Ltd 6 Oct 1969 [10 Oct 1968] 48046/68 Heading F2E A disc brake friction pad has, at each of those parts of the border of the friction face 7 intended in use of the pad to form the radially inner and outer peripheries of the friction face with respect to the rotational axis of the brake disc 1, an indent 6 extending entirely along the respective periphery between the friction face and the respective rim of the pad. The depth of the indent may be at any part thereof between 1/16th inch and “ inch inclusive measured radially from the vertical intersection of the friction face and the respective rim as a centre. The pad is intended to be a replacement pad the indents allowing for the building of local parts of the disc due to corrosion. Figs. 5 to 8 (not shown) disclose various shapes of indent end. Fig. 9 (not shown) discloses a circular brake pad, all the other brake pads being sectors of an annulus.
