Abstract

1287569 Frequency detectors W A WEMYSS 26 Feb 1970 [24 Dec 1968] 61248/68 Heading H3A [Also in Division G1] A wind speed and direction indicator, see Division G1, includes a frequency to D.C. circuit, Fig. 4, for measuring the wind speed. As reed switch 4 opens and closes at a frequency determined by the wind speed positive going pulses, due to the discharging and charging of capacitor 46, are applied through diode 49 to trigger monostable circuit 51, 52. The output pulses from transistor 52 are fed to an averager comprising capacitor 58 and resistors 54 to 56 to produce a D.C. output signal proportional to wind speed. Zener diode 59 controls the height of the monostable output pulses and R-C circuit 55, 50 their widths.
