Abstract

1287502 Air break switches BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 27 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 51036/70 Heading H1N An isolator or earthing switch has a post insulator 1 supporting a fixed contact arrangement 2 which is engaged by a knife contact 3 which is pivotable through approximately 90 degrees and which performs a sliding motion after engagement due to a double crank system 5, 6, which cranks are approximately parallel at the initial engagement of the contacts. The knife contact may be mounted horizontally in a double column isolator arrangement, Fig. 3( not shown).
