1286895 Recording tracks of particles COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 21 Oct 1970 [30 Oct 1969] 49876/70 Heading G6P In a spark chamber, for determining the image of radio-active sources, as described in the Specification 1,133,682, the dead time of the chamber is reduced by the provision of two electrically conductive coatings on opposite faces of the anode. The spark chamber, 1, has a short-circuiting device, 8, connected across the grid-anodes multiplication spaces but in addition, the anode, 5, consists of a glass plate provided with two coatings, 10, 11 of tin oxide. Coating 11, which is of higher conductivity than, and is electrically connected to, 10, responds rapidly to voltage falls at 8 and by a capacitive effect, reduces the voltage of 10 to quench the spark with a reduced dead time.
