Abstract

1286530 Refuse incinerators E RASMUSSEN AS 3 Nov 1969 [4 Nov 1968] 53762/69 Heading F4B A refuse furnace comprises a primary combustion chamber 7, a secondary combustion chamber 9, an inlet shaft for the waste material 6 an outlet vent opening 25, gates 13 and 14 having associated closed air chambers 16 and 18, and a sliding stoker pusher rod 10 designed as a hollow box provided with exhaust nozzles 11 for compressed air. In operation, the fuel rubbish is fed into the shaft 6 by means of a crane 2 and passes through an opening 26 into the combustion chamber 7, the fuel being pushed along the incinerator grate 13 by the reciprocating movement of the plunger 10. A fuel layer of comparatively uniform thickness is formed on the grate 13, fuel falling on to grate 14 for final incineration. A slag cart 28 is disposed beneath the grate 14. Combustion gases passing into the secondary combustion chamber 9 are mixed with air entering through air nozzles 19 for secondary combustion to take place.
