Abstract

1286239 Polyterephthaloyl oxamidrazones GLANZSTOFF AG 2 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969 46933/70 Addition to 1139279 Heading C3R Polyterephthaloyl oxamidrazones are obtained by reacting oxalic acid bisamidrazone with terephthaloyl chloride at 0 to 60‹ C. in a two-phase solvent mixture of water and an inert organic liquid which is immiscible with water, in the presence of an acid acceptor, the aqueous phase comprising from 10% by weight to saturation of a neutral alkali metal salt. The organic liquid may be hexane, carbon tetrachloride, a petroleum hydrocarbon, toluene, xylene or petroleum ether. The alkali metal salt may be a halide, sulphate or nitrate of sodium, potassium or lithium and the acid acceptor may be sodium bicarbonate. Examples are given.
