Abstract
1285030 Semi-conductor pulse generators POST OFFICE 20 Nov 1969 [25 Nov 1968] 55747/68 Heading H3T A pulse generator comprises a unijunction transistor relaxation oscillator driving a thyristor bi-stable circuit 1, 2, 9 and additional means for alternately discharging and enabling the charging of the capacitor of the relaxation circuit. When the power supply is connected to the generator, thyristor 2 is triggered through a capacitor 15. Capacitor 21 charges through resistors 23, 24 until transistor 10 breaks down and delivers pulses through resistors 11, 12 (which may be replaced by diodes) to the gates of thyristors 1, 2. Thyristor 1 is triggered, energizing a relay coil R and commutating thyristor 2 via 9. Relay contacts R1, R2 act to switch a capacitor 22, equal in value to 21, into the oscillator circuit and to discharge capacitor 21. With thyristor 1 on, a diode 26 is forwardbiased, and capacitor 22 is charged through resistors 6, 25, low in value relatively to 23, 24. An RF interference suppression choke may be connected to the positive supply conductor 5.
