Abstract
128,478. Parker Foundry Co., and Neilsen, E. Sept. 28, 1918. Moulds; clamping moulds.-The moulds are in two parts b, b', Fig. 2, pivoted to the supporting table at a' and opened and closed by cams d, d<1>. In the form shown, the table supports two moulds each having two pivoted parts and a core B<1>, but in other forms one part of the mould may be fixed and one mould or more than two moulds may be supported on the table. The cam D is actuated by the hand wheel E, and its construction is shown in Fig. 5. The parts D<1>, D<2> which bear the cam members dle are mounted on the shaft E, and are connected to the central part which bears the cam member d by pins e<1>. Helical springs F are provided to allow lateral movement of the parts D<1>, D<2> in the event of the rollers C becoming jammed between the cam parts d<1>, d, so that the moulds cannot be opened. Handles c are also provided for opening the moulds. Mould materials.-The moulds may be of hµmatite and may be used to cast steel, iron or brass.
