Abstract
1284334 1,1<SP>1</SP> - Peroxydicyclohexylamine BP CHEMICALS Ltd 19 April 1971 [15 April 1970] 17889/70 Heading C2C 1,1<SP>3</SP>-Peroxydicyclohexylamine is prepared by reacting cyclohexanone, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in the presence of a metal derivative of E.D.T.A., other than a noble metal derivative, which has a stability constant K such that log 10 K is at least 5, and which is substantially stable against hydrolysis. The metal in the metal derivative of E.D.T.A. may be selected from Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg, Al, Zn, Cd, Ni, Co and La. The reaction mixture may also contain the di- or tetra-sodium salts of E.D.T.A. and the process may be carried out in the presence of a catalyst which may be NH 4 Cl, NH 4 NO 3 or an ammonium salt or a group I metal salt of an organic carboxylic acid. The process may be continuous.
