Abstract

1283937 Circulators MITSUBISHI DENKI KK 28 Nov 1969 [28 Nov 1968] 58227/69 Heading H1W In order to decrease the operating frequency of a strip-line circulator, the branch lines are arranged to have non-radial portions, whereby their lengths may be increased without increasing the diameter of the circulator. The non- radial portions afford additional capacitative loading. As shown, the junction member 12 of a Y-circulator of otherwise conventional construction is provided with branches 14 having circumferential portions of length l 1 which overlie ferrimagnetic disc 16. The diameter of disc 16 exceeds that of junction 12 to provide an annular portion of radial dimension I. The ferrimagnetic material of this annular portion may be replaced by an annulus of material having the same dielectric constant. The circulator is completed by addition of a second disc 16 and ground planes arranged symmetrically on either side of the junction 12.
