Abstract

1,263,633. Reinforcing rod distance piece. KUNSTSTOFFENINDUSTRIE ATTEMA N.V. 24 Dec., 1969 [17 March, 1969; 17 Nov., 1969], No. 62954/69. Heading E1W. A distance piece for concrete reinforcing rods has a circular border 1 providing a circular surface, for engaging a coffering, which is smooth and is uninterrupted except by a slit 7 through which a reinforcing rod is passed when being radially introduced into the opening 9 of a collar 4 coaxial with the border. The slit includes a portion of less width than the largest dimension of the opening 9. The collar is connected to the border by substantially radial ribs 5, which near the border and near the collar, have the same axial thickness as the border and collar respectively; and are thinner in the circumferential direction than in the axial direction. The axial width of the border may be less than that of the collar, as in Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) or may be of the same width and provided with an outer protruding circumferential rib 2 of lesser axial width. The collar 4 may be polygonal and the ribs may include ribs 3 arranged in a plurality of pairs, each pair extending from opposite ends of one of the sides of the polygonal collar.
