Abstract
1,233,735. Shrinkable textile cores. E. JUNGBECKER, C. JUNGBECKER, G. JUNGBECKER, and J. JUNGBECKER, [trading as JOS. ZIMMERMANN]. 27 Aug., 1968, No. 40886/68. Heading B8M. A core of thermoplastic synthetic material for the shrinking of synthetic fibres and yarns has, evenly distributed over its periphery, a number of axially extending slots 4, which divide the core into a number of sections 3 which are joined together by joining members 7, and is characterized in that the slots 4 divide the core into sections 3 extending between its end parts 1, 2, the sections 3 are joined to the end parts 1, 2 by bars 6 and the joining members 7 are bridging elements in the slots 4. The sections 3 may be perforated as at 5. The bridging elements 7 may be provided with pre-weakened buckling points, the buckling axis extending radially or axially. The bridging element may be a continuous strip 7 or a series of pieces, such as angle-pieces 7b which extend herringbonefashion in the slot 4. The angle-pieces may alternate in direction in each slot. In a further embodiment, the pieces are whole rings or half rings. The bars 6 are of reduced wall thickness with respect to the sections 3 and may be in the form of oblique strips, rhombi, half rings or whole rings.
