Abstract

1283359 Manufacture of limb-receiving garments ROTHENBORG SPECIALMASKINER FOR SY INDUSTRIEN AS 11 Nov 1969 [12 Nov 1968] 53717/68 Heading A3V A method of making panty hose or other similar limb-receiving garments comprises taking two tubular stocking like members 10, 12, an open end of each being drawn onto a respective template device A, B. Each device A, B has two quarter-circular portions 20, 22 and 24, 26 each pair being hingedly connected together along edges 28, 30. Cutting means C move along the circular periphery of the devices A, B to slit each article 10, 12. The template devices are then opened out about the fold edges 34 to provide two parallel semicircular plates which are brought together, Fig. 5. The cut edges of the two articles 10, 12 are then joined by a sewing machine SM, the devices A, B being thereafter separated to detach the finished garment, Fig. 7. An apparatus employing template devices which have a semi-circular configuration in the folded position is also described (Figs. 10 to 19, not shown).
