Abstract

1283168 Anchoring nuts and bolts F M LUMB 24 April 1971 11227/71 Heading F2H For clamping an article to a table or bed structure T having a Tee-slot S in its surface, the head 2 or 6 of a bolt 1 or a nut (Fig. 9) respectively is passed through the narrow part of the slot and turned to engage in the undercut part of the slot, a locking member L then being inserted in the narrow part of the slot to engage the head to prevent the latter from turning out of the undercut. As shown, the head 2 or 6 is of parallelogram plan form with its minor dimension slightly less than the width of the narrow part of the slot and its major dimension slightly less than the width of the undercut part of the slot. The rectangular locking member has a bore 3 to fit over the bolt shank or a boss 7 of the nut, and a transverse slot 5 which receives the portion of the head below the narrow portion of the slot. End recesses 4 assist finger grip. The locking member is retained in the slot by the article or clamp element associated with the bolt or with a stud screwed into the nut.
