Abstract

1282566 Loading ramps P C & C K CHASE Ltd 26 Nov 1969 [28 Nov 1968] 56494/68 Heading B8H A ramp for use in transporting loads into a container consists of two separable sections 10, 11 which in use, are arranged one behind the other and are interconnected by a pivoted bridging flap 20, and which are each formed with apertures or provided with stirrups for the reception of the fork of a fork lift truck whereby the ramp sections may be transported and positioned. As shown, the section 11 is supported on legs 16, 17 and is provided with a pair of hinged flaps 18 and with a pair of hinged bridging flaps 20 which are adapted to engage hooks 22 on the ramp section 10. The section 10 is provided with a leg 12 and a lip 13. The leg 12 is formed with apertures 24, Fig. 3 (not shown), for the reception of a fork of a fork lift truck. The leg 17 of section 11 is formed with similar apertures. In a second embodiment, Figs. 6-9 (not shown), the leg 17 on section 11 is omitted and the flap 18 is rigidly secured to the section. Two pivotally retractable stirrups are provided on the section 11 for the reception of the lifting fork.
