Abstract
1282537 Weighing apparatus W F ALTENPOHL Inc 18 Aug 1970 39778/70 Heading G1W An automatic weight sorting apparatus particularly for poultry comprises a conveyer 12 from which depend a number of poultry carrier assemblies 20. The assemblies are attached to the conveyer by links 22 pivotally carrying rollers 42 which engage a track section 70 supported by frames 48, 50, 52. As the carrier is traversed the rollers engage inclined end portions 76, 78 of the track section to lift the carrier assemblies and transfer their support on to the track section. A vertically movable section 84 is provided in the track and is coupled to a pair of weigh beams 108 having adjustable weight elements 110. The end of weigh beams are aligned with a trigger valve device 114 which is coupled to a lever adapted to engage the supporting arm carrying the poultry on the carrier assembly. Consequently when the weight of any assembly is such to cause the section 84 to be depressed as the rollers 42 pass on it, the device 114 is actuated to cause the poultry to be released from its carrier.
