Abstract

1,216,651. Weighing apparatus. WAYONIC ENG., Ltd. Jan. 26, 1968 [Oct. 29, 1966(2)], No.48579/66. Heading G1W. Apparatus for weighing cans in succession comprises a load platform 16 so connected to a load cell 10 as to transfer only vertical forces thereto and a conveyer arrangement for conveying the cans in succession over the load platform 16. The load platform 16 is arranged between two fixed platforms 15, 17 and is attached to one of the fixed platforms 15 by a plurality of parallel leaf springs 18, the platform 16 being arranged to act upon a load sensitive member 20 of the load cell 10 through a knife-edged support 21. The casing of the load cell 10 which supports the fixed platforms 15, 17 is itself supported on a spring mounted mass 12 providing an anti-vibration mounting. A screw conveyer 29 is arranged to direct cans to an endless chain conveyer 24 which is provided with spacer elements 30 to urge the cans over a plate 22 towards the platforms 15, 16, 17 and over a plate 23 away from the platforms 15, 16, 17, an endless belt conveyer 25 being arranged to support the cans during their travel over the platforms 15, 16, 17, the endless belt conveyer 25 being driven quicker than the chain conveyer 24 so that the cans are free from the spacer elements 30 when on the platform 16.
