Abstract

1282496 Rollers XEROX CORP 12 Nov 1969 [14 Nov 1968] 55308/69 Heading F2U [Also in Division G2] A heat fixing roller 30 comprises a heat conductive sleeve 73, e.g. of A1 having end caps 34 of low thermal conductivity material, e.g. phenolic resin through which extend end shafts 35, 36; an electric blanket 75 contacting the inner surface of sleeve 73. Sleeve 73 preferably has an outer coating 79 of P.T.F.E. A thermistor 80 connected to a bridge circuit 71 controls the power supply 70 of blanket 75. In use, an upper roller (3), Figs. 2, 3, 5, 6, (not shown), comprising a metal cylinder having an outer P.T.F.E. coating, is pivoted into contact with roller 30 and image bearing sheets are fed between the rollers.
