Abstract

1381081 Heated fuser rolls RANK XEROX Ltd 17 Nov 1971 [17 Nov 1970] 54591/70 Heading F2U [Also in Division G2] A xerographic copying machine comprises an assembly of two rollers in rolling engagement, one being a heated fuser roll comprising a shell 4 (e.g. of stainless steel with a PTFE outer coating) mounted over a core which is expandable diametrically to grip the core (e.g. either by a mechanism therein or by being a shell 1-e.g. of aluminium-with a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than the shell 4). The fuser roll may be heated by an electric heating element 3. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,174,723.
