Abstract

Photocopying comprises forming an electrostatic image on a ZnO-coated paper, then making the image visible by toner powder and fixing it. The dry toner powder is fixed by passing between two rolls with a roll gap not exceeding the thickness of the paper; the rolls revolved in opposite directions so that the toner image is pressed into the paper without sufficient pressure, however, to break up the ZnO coating but with sufficient pressure to fix the toner. Heating equipment for fixing and attendant problems of cooling are eliminated.
