Abstract

1281812 Dish washing machines WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 19 Jan 1970 [3 Feb 1969] 2416/70 Heading A4F [Also in Division E2] The swing-down door of a dishwasher cabinet is mounted for swing-down movement beyond the horizontal normal open position and has anti-tip means operable, when a face greater than a predetermined normal face is applied, to open the door beyond the normal open position. The antitip means comprises "yieldable resistance means" which may be partly formed by counterbalancing means. In the figures, door 22 secured to cabinet 10 by hinge 24 normally opens to a horizontal position and is held there by detent means 38. On application of an abnormal force, shoulder 52, Fig. 4, comes out of engagement with the lower edge of guide block 54 permitting catch member 46 to slide upwardly to allow the door to open futher.
