Abstract

1,041,880. Dish washers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 8, 1963 [Nov. 13, 1962], No. 39543/63. Heading A4F. A dish washing machine comprises a cabinet having a front opening closed by a door 7 pivoted to the lower edge thereof and has a rack for stacking dishes having upper and lower rectangular rack members, the upper rack member comprising two sections 25 and 26 pivoted by links 40, 43 and 47, 50 respectively to the lower rack by means of which the sections can be moved apart to a limited degree to allow access to the lower rack member 24. On opening, the door 7 lies horizontally to provide a guide for the rack which is moved out of the cabinet by means of rollers 9. In an alternative embodiment only one section of the upper rack is movable.
