Jan. 2, 1919, Floors of reinforced-concrete girders side by side; joist floors; reinforced-concrete girders.- The joists comprise concrete parts which are joined together by a reinforced-concrete filling, and are supported in position by concrete supports formed on reinforced-concrete or metal main girders. The spaces between the joists may be bridged by slabs and the whole coated with cement to form the flooring. The joists s, Fig. 1, comprise two concrete parts e jointed and spaced by reinforced cement f. The main girders consist of reinforced-concrete planks a entering rabbets a' in the joint support d and spaced apart by concrete having reinforcements c. Slabs bridge the spaces between adjacent joists, the slabs and joists being chamfered and in order that the transverse reinforcements may be accommodated, the upper surface of the joists may be of the form shown and recesses cut in the contiguous edges of the slabs to form grooves. Where a metal main girder n, Fig. 12, is employed, the joist supports d are secured in position above by the strap o and below bv dowels q. If desired, the slabs may be dispensed with, the joists s being provided with wings e<8> touching adjacent wings at e<9>.
