Abstract

1280524 Hand-tool handles E A KING and R C KING 25 June 1970 [4 July 1969] 33932/69 Heading B4K An adapter for linking the head and handle of a broom, brush or mop comprises a plate 2 to engage the head, a tubular projection 4 to receive the handle and a detachable support 18 adjustably attached to the projection 4. The rear part of projection 4 has a slot through which a bolt 24 projects and the projection 4 also allows a handle 32 to be gripped by a bolt 12. The adapter may be made of metal or plastics and the support 18 may be pre-formed or be deformable by the manipulator of the tool. At the rear of the plate there may be teeth (8) Fig. 1 (not shown) and there are inturned flaps 16 to limit the engagement of the handle.
