Abstract
1280052 Electric control of fuel injection TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO K K 4 Feb 1970 [15 Feb 1969] 5292/70 Heading G1N In an electrically controlled I.C. engine fuel injection system, during normal running the quantity of fuel injected is controlled by pulses supplied by a unit 10 and having a duration dependent upon the engine speed, the inlet manifold pressure and the engine temperature. However, during starting, i.e. when a switch 12 is closed or when the starter motor rotates, a holding circuit 14 is energized and applies to the respective injection valves 1, via unit 10, an electric pulse only once upon closure of the switch 12, the duration of the pulse being determined by the temperature of the engine and the pulse being independent of those pulses produced by the unit 10 when the engine is running. The temperature detector 11 is preferably a thermistor having a negative temperature co-efficient so that the pulse duration is proportional to its resistance.
