Abstract

1279594 Valves MACLAREN CONTROLS Ltd 13 Nov 1970 54151/70 Heading F2V A gas burner control valve has a safety lock arrangement including an "on" push-button 8, a spindle 10 mechanically coupled to the pushbutton 8, a valve member 23 attached to a plunger 24 of a solenoid 25 which can hold the valve open, a spigot 22 at the centre of the valve member upon which the end of the spindle bears when the push rod is pressed, and a spring-urged gate 1 mounted on a hinge pin 3 which, by a shoulder 6 prevents inward movement of the push-button when the valve is open and which, by a ramp 5 co-operating with the spigot 22 pushes the gate out of the path of the spindle when the valve is closed. An "off" push-button 9 interrupts the pilot light circuit when actuated to release the valve member from the solenoid. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the gate is mounted on a spider formed or inserted in a bore surrounding the lower end of the spindle 10. Another modified form includes a rotatable cock (42) (Fig. 4, not shown) with a spider (43) on which is mounted the gate. (For Figures see next page)
