Abstract

1279505 Hose couplings BTR INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 June 1971 [6 July 1970] 32568/70 Heading F2G A hose end 11 is attached to an end of a tubular member 10 by means 21 in a coupling which further comprises annular sealing means 16 and a sleeve 12 which abuts a flange 13 on the member 10, the sleeve being externally screwthreaded for reception in the socket 18 of a further component 19. As shown, the sealing means comprises an 0-ring 16, located in a counterbore 17, which is axially compressed by the base of the socket 18 to effect a seal. The tubular member 10 is received within the bore of the hose end 11 and the means 21 may comprise a ferrule which is crimped or swaged about the hose end. The captive sleeve 12 is rotatable on the member 10 and has an hexagonal portion 15 to facilitate screwed engagement in the socket 18.
